A lot of people aren’t really a fan of Adam Sandler. He releases a ton of movies in quick succession, employs all of the same actors who are known to be personal friends of his, is known for really weird and bad movies and a few more things. Personally, I like Adam Sandler. I love his whole idea of putting out movies for fun, employing his friends simply so he can have fun and send out good messages to viewers. He obviously wants a high box office turnout but it won’t make or break anyone. He wants to have a good time and have enjoy his profession. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to have a good time at your job with your friends and his overall success evens out for the worse movies he has made.

This movie is based in hell. The lord satan is coming up on his 10,000th year ruling over hell and he was thinking about a successor. Satan came to the conclusion that none of his three sons were worthy. Adrian was cunning and wise, Cassius was strong and fierce and Nicky was…a good kid. None of them were fit to rule the throne and Nicky was fine with it. He was never big on ruling and just wanted to live and enjoy his life. His brothers however did not agree. They wanted the throne and could not be any more upset at this decision. It’s decided between the brothers that they should leave hell and go to the human world and create their own hell. As soon as they leave, they freeze the hellfire used to trap new souls, which stops the income of souls into hell. This causes Satan to start to deteriorate and lose his power. He only had a week left of life. Satan asks his son Nicky to go to the human world and bring back his brothers, to save his life. Although not thrilled with this decision, Nicky goes through the hellfire to find his brothers. He shortly finds out when he gets in the human world that not everything is as easy as it seemed. He immediately dies and pops back into hell and this becomes a small trend of dying and going back. Not a super big problem because he can just return easily, but still annoying. He keeps looking for his brothers and is helped by an old friend of his father’s who happens to be a demon in the body of a bulldog. They keep looking and find nothing. Eventually Nicky meets a girl who he’s never met before and they start walking around and talking and he realizes he’s never met a girl like her before. It isn’t until then, that he finds his first brother Adrian. Adrian uses his evil powers to control Nicky into insulting the girl he was with and pushing her away. Nicky, upset and defeated, realizes he needs to harness his own evil power to fight his brothers. He practices his powers and finally accomplished evil power but turning a Coke into a Pepsi (yep). As he does that, he sees one of his brothers at a basketball game on tv and he rushes over to his location. They fight it out on the basketball court and Nicky overpowers his brother, tricking him and trapping him to get him back to hell. He then celebrates a bit and tells a few people that he in the son of Satan and they worship him. He reconciled with his lady friend and then finds out his other brother has taken the place of the mayor and put out a huge reward for Nicky’s arrest. He hides and tries to think of a way to get his other brother back to hell as his father grows weaker. He eventually finds his brother and they get into a huge fight, and eventually Nicky loses and dies in an attempt to save another’s life which is unlike a demon. He finds himself in heaven and discovers that his mother was actually an Angel so he’s half Angel and half devil. He goes back down to earth to confront his brother and starts to use his powers of good to fight and starts to overpower his brother. His brother takes over the throne to hell and becomes more powerful and they fight it out with their newfound powers, with the brother winning and Nicky in a sore spot.

That’s all I say for now about this since I don’t Like to spoilt endings. This was another comedy movie and it was kinda all over the place. It had such weird moments that it was hard to keep straight but yet everything made sense in an Adam Sandler way. It was all kinda weird but a good weird. Personally I enjoy Adam Sandler and I also enjoy divination stories, so anything on hell I will watch. I simply find it fascinating. It was the same typical recipe for all of his movies though, hero is unlikely, goes through trials, meets a super pretty girl who’s always been misunderstood, has the girl leave him, has a redemption, gets the girl back, faces his demons, lives happily ever after. He does this in every movie he has. I find it amusing, although very repetitive. I mean who wouldn’t enjoy watching the same movie over and over again just reskinned?
